SUMMER INTERN PROGRAMS
Each year we search out 6 to 10 dynamic, talented, flexible, compassionate young adults to serve on our intern team during our summer Retreat sessions. Our intern program is designed to give young adults the opportunity to lead and learn in a variety of ways: Interns practice program planning, design, and execution. They learn about working effectively with children, teens, and adults with special needs. Our interns support the various aspects of our families with children with special needs. They are mentored by seasoned Wellness GIFTS family members, who help them to identify and nurture their gifts. All of our staff, interns, and volunteers learn to live and practice care for the special needs community.
Our intern program is a great way to gain practical experience in various forms of the special needs community; this is also a great internship for those interested in outdoor education, teaching, psychology, human services or social work. Many of our interns/volunteers are pursuing degrees in related fields and enjoy the unique experience & skills that come from serving at our day retreats. We are intentional about developing the leadership skills AND gifts of our interns, and creating a unique and supportive staff family at day retreat. To top it off, interns get to spend the summer day at one of our day retreat locations.
We hope you’ll join us; working at camp is the BEST way to spend your summer!
