Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When is training?
A: In 2017, our main training will scheduled for May 13, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Stay tuned for this date!
Q: What if I cannot make it to the May training?
A: Training will be held each Friday before retreats. We strongly recommend attending the May training.
Q: What days and what hours would I be an assistant?
A: In addition to your training session, the hours we need Assistants include:
Q: Can I be a part time assistant?
A: Yes! We are always looking for help behind the scenes or for those times when a scheduled assistant calls in sick. You will still need to complete the application process and attend a training. We could also use help between retreats and over the winter.
Q: Will you write me a letter of recommendation or fill out my school’s paperwork?
A: If the assistant is present for the whole retreat weekend or all weekends, I would be happy to write a letter of recommendation. If the assistant is fulfilling a volunteer commitment for another organization and his or her requirements are less than one weekend, I will write and/or sign a verification letter that you were here and for what dates and times. If you are looking to fulfill college level or other experiential learning experience requirements, I will be happy to fill out your paperwork as long as you meet the requirements of your program.
Q: Can we share a cabin?
A: Safety is our number one concern for our retreat volunteers as well as our retreat families. As long as there is availability, and the occupancy limits are respected for safety reasons, yes.
